Job Summary:

Responsible for the overall management of the Powder Production, ensuring that current and long-range strategies, objectives & plans are met. Create and develop an organization and facility capable of their fulfillment with clearly defined and understood responsibilities, authorities, and accountabilities.

Key performance areas:

  • Establish operational plans, goals, and budgets, and evaluate the performance of the plant in association with the Global manager.
  • Ensure the operational plans & goals are effectively achieved, including all financial results.
  • Manage a team of professional and hourly employees.
  • Manage, direct and co-ordinate all Powder plant activities; this includes all order to delivery activities.
  • Responsible for optimization of capacity and implementing capacity expansion plans in line with Sandvik Coromant’s Global Powder strategies. (Organization / Equipment and personnel)
  • Ensure Compliance with the Quality, Safety and Environmental systems based on ISO 9001, 14001 & OHSAS 18001 and all federal & state laws and regulations. Continually strive to provide a “world class” working environments for all employees.
  • Evaluate and continuously develop highly motivated individuals and teams, identifying and coordinating training and development programs as required.
  • Ensure that all employees work towards the agreed objectives and provide them with the information needed to perform their job to the best of their ability.
  • Manage all material & production planning activities and stocks, ensuring both raw material and finished stocks are kept at an optimum level, without risking supply and in conjunction with Group requirements.
  • Control the operations costs with objectives to reduce the overall process cost.
  • Provide all customers, (internal and external) with a “world class” service.
  • Maintain close co-ordination and dialogue with other Powder Supply Units.
  • Responsible to ensure all directives/procedures/instructions are in place, to enable development of the processes and hence quality of the powder and services.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained and that a preventative maintenance program is in place.
  • Ensure that the processes are in line with standards.
  • Co-ordinate powder re-cycling activities.
  • Perform other management activities as assigned or required to support the Tooling Powder Supply group.

Your profile:

  • 5 – 10 years of manufacturing management experience in the cemented carbide industry.
  • BS Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.

Additional requirements:

  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, organizational planning abilities and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Financial capabilities and skills within project management, performance management, as well as strategy and change management.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain solid relationships and have an ability to influence and promote a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Skills to operate in a global and fast-paced business environment with diversified cultures and believe that good teamwork is key to success.
