Conforming to good business ethics means practicing sound corporate governance and formulating clear policy statements for our employees. In 2004, the Sandvik Board decided to revitalize the Code of Conduct.

Extensive efforts were devoted to training our employees in sustainability and business ethics. At a large number of seminars worldwide, about 400 managers and senior executives from all of our markets and business areas discussed Sandvik's core values and the content of our Code of Conduct. The process was highly appreciated internally and the level of commitment was high.
The information campaign then continued in various stages, and by the end of 2009, about 35 000 employees in the Group had been trained on Sandvik's Code of Conduct.

The Code of Conduct, which is part of Sandvik's common platform, The Power of Sandvik, is based on the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the ILO's Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.
